Find the Right Window Tint Film For Your Ride

Find the Right Window Tint Film For Your Ride

There are many benefits to having your car windows tinted, and there are several different types of film that we offer at Soundz Good Stereo, such as single and dual ply, ceramic, metal and hybrid. Learn more about them now and see why we're more than just your average, run of the mill car stereo store.

Single and Dual-Ply

The most common forms of window tint are single and dual-ply film. These are dyed window films where dye is actually placed between the adhesive layers. It reduces the amount of sunlight and UV rays that enter the car and also protects the interior from fading. The most cost-effective type of tint, it also cuts down on glare from streetlights and oncoming headlights and won't block out radio waves if your car's antenna is embedded inside the windshield.

Metal Tint

Another form of window tinting is metalized film. Depending on the shade, it can block out up to 90 percent of the light. It can reflect a lot of the heat and darken the windows, which provides privacy as well as a cooler interior. The heat is blocked before it even enters the car, and this tint does a great job of cutting down on glare as well. Since it is made with metal, it has a very reflective metallic sheen, so you have to be sure it is the look you are going for.

Metal Tint Can Block Up to 90 Percent of the Light from the Sun

Hybrid Tint

You can also explore a hybrid tint, which takes the best of the dyed and metallic tint. This is made of an adhesive layer, a dyed layer and then a metal layer with a protective top coat to finish it off. Between 50 and 95 percent of the light is blocked depending on the shade you choose. It won’t interfere with radio or cellphone signals due to the lower amount of metal in the material, and can block the heat, glare and UV rays from the sun. It isn’t as shiny as a full metal tint, so it may provide a more desirable look.

Ceramic Film

Ceramic film is gaining in popularity and, depending on the shade you choose, it can block 50 to 70 percent of the light and won’t fade like single and dual-ply tint. It can block glare and heat, won’t be as reflective as metal window tinting, and will not interfere with your radio or cellphone signals.
